Champ the DOCUMENTARY FILM will cover the history of dance in a 100 minute docu, similar to Rize & 20ft From Stardom, where the question of why the battle dancers do what they do, and what impact they intend and hope to make, and most important a clear understanding of who the artists are and their importance in the world of entertainment.
The film will be 2/3rds interviews and historical video clips and 1/3rd battlers journey as the battle dancers prepare to meet in a major invite only battle. The docu-film will partner with Hip Hop International along with World of Dance for a limited event release, joining the global brands on their world event schedule (post COVID); brands who produce more than 150 global events per year.
Champ the DOCU SERIES will cover a more in depth look at the history of the battle dance scene, and reference more clips of game changing battles, more references to street dance entering mainstream (think Michael Jackson, Usher, Chris Brown music videos) more dance crews, more global coverage in 4 x 1 hour episodes. Similar to Hip Hop Evolution, currently in its 4th season.
Set up in a 7-act structure the docu series will introduce several battle dancers and follow their stories as they train for an upcoming battle, while we travel through history searching out the origin stories of street dance styles and the creators of those styles.
The docu series will be 1/2 history as seen through the lens of our host/narrator via interview and clips; 1/2 clips and story while following the journey of battle dancers as they prepare to meet in a major invite only battle.
